This is a power manager that allows you to choose an active profile and base working options. For example, using Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi you can choose whether to turn off the wireless network adaper, the Ethernet controller, and the Cardbus slot from the battery during the work. Also, you can adjust the brightness of the monitor and productivity of the prosessor, the time of blanking of the monitor and turning the computer to the sleeping mode. More tuning options are available through the regular system of power management in the Windows Vista.
Acer ePower Management allows you to set all critical system parameters for prolonging the time of autonomous work. In the automatic mode, the utility has tuned the notebook in such a way that it worked 3 hours and 11 minutes with an untrained accumulator while performing the following tasks:
1.5 hours - playing MP3 in Windows Media Player 10 with the visualization turned on.
1 hour - playing an MPEG4 video with an average brightness of the monitor.
The rest of the time - installing and deleting programs, tuning the Bluetooth
connection with a mobile phone, and a little bit of the internet connection.
